These less likeable traits are vital because (a) no character is perfect and (b) without the failings your characters are more likely to come across as cardboard cut-outs. So I've no intention of changing Eileen's less likeable traits, as listed below, since I believe they are a crucial part of her overall make-up.
- Eileen is a hypocrite.
- Eileen thinks blunt honesty is more important than kindness. (It isn't always).
- Eileen does go through life thinking she knows best. Okay a lot of the time she has a point but not always and this is one major source of irritation to daughter, Jennifer.
- Eileen will argue to the nth degree even when there is nothing really to be gained from this.
- Eileen storms through life, leaving devastation in her wake. (From my viewpoint as a creator, I also love her for this as it opens up so many stories to tell about her!).
