THE RULES OF MAGIC - 15
People are duty bound to report those dodgy beings claiming to sell special magical goods or powers. It is a rip-off and FNN are looking into preparing a consumer watchdog type programme where viewers can write in and name and shame the culprits). The Queen and her Council suspect that aside from the Kingdom’s own rogues some of these dodgy sellers probably are spies for other, hostile worlds so it is in everybody’s interest to get these people hauled in. Any dodgy beings reading this notice should be aware the Kingdom will use any or all of its powers to arrest those hostile to it so give up selling dodgy goods now!
New discoveries in magic are to be shared with the Queen and her Council, who will assume the responsibility of checking that these things are truly safe for members of the public. The last thing the Kingdom needs is some dreadful scandal where an exciting new magical product blows up in someone’s face. The Kingdom is trying desperately to move away from the image if you kill yourself magically, it’s your tough luck school of thought. It doesn’t do much for developing skills in empathy and compassion, qualities the fairies are supposed to lead the realm in.
Those who stockpile magic of any kind (and especially any new discoveries not reported, see last rule too) can expect to not have a good time of it when the Queen and her Council find out about it. And they will. The last being to stockpile spells and magical equipment briefly overthrew the fairy government so anybody else stockpiling items of this nature cannot expect the establishment to smile benevolently on them. The Queen has proposed a measure to her Council that anyone who persists with stockpiling will have their worst spell used against them, regardless of consequences. This is currently being debated by the Council. It is, however, expected, to go through and become law.
Those attacking the Fairy Kingdom must be aware they will face massive retailiation. This magical realm has been attacked far too many times in its past for it to take any other view. The Queen and her Council note with approval that when the realm is threatened externally, the Fairy Kingdom’s various species do unite against the common foe. Even the wicked in our world want to rule the Kingdom themselves and not be dictated to by some unfriendly outsider. Those involved in defending the Kingdom on behalf of the Queen and her Council must practice their skills regularly. Everybody else should stay out of the way - this rule is given on the assumption folk like living.
