WHAT THE KINGDOM WOULD LIKE TO SEE
Jennifer to be pressured into getting used to the idea she has inherited more from her mother than just her good looks and curvy figure. Jennifer to come to terms with how useful magic can be at times and without resorting to the blast all your enemies to the next world technique (though Eileen insists that has much to commend it!).
Magic being taken seriously by the sprite communities and for it to stop being used an excuse for larking about. Magical exam pass rates to improve (too many sprites flunk the final papers). More retributive magic taken against errant sprites (many in the realm think there are too many goody-goodies stopping said sprites getting the magical thrashing they deserve).
A vast reduction in magical accidents. The Queen blames ancient calligraphy which is frighteningly easy to misread and is working to translate all of the old scrolls into modern language, a task that will, even with magic, take decades, given each scroll still needed to be checked by a suitably qualified fairy or good wizard. Eileen would allow the good witches to help here too as it gives them a chance to prove themselves but the Queen was so enraged at this that even Eileen has decided it would be best not to raise the matter again. The good witches naturally see this as bias, they mostly appreciate Eileen’s efforts, and tend to see the “pay back” as the extra time doing this work will take. Had the good witches been allowed to help, translation and checking time would be cut by half.
