THE RULES OF MAGIC - 14
Those talented people whose role it is to make wands, crystal balls etc are to work to the very highest standards. The Queen and her Council will arrange for unannounced spot checks at least twice a year at each and every establishment. Those who fail the exacting quality standards laid down by the Queen’s ancient ancestors who founded the Kingdom will be brought to book. They may be comforted to know that the Queen, with support from the Council, has changed the hideous death by hanging, drawing and quartering (an idea stolen from Earth) to simply being shot, using a wand for the purpose. The Queen likes things to be neat and tidy. She sees no reason why executions should not be.
If confronted by an alien being with superior magical powers, you will do your best to establish what those powers are without getting killed (as that is of no help to anybody, especially yourself). The Queen and her Council will expect a full report within three days of the encounter unless you are injured (and even then you submit the report as quickly as possible and find other ways of alerting the government so this being can be rounded up quickly before it destroys everyone). The Queen and her Council recommends trying to outwit such an alien being - followed by running away terribly fast, which is generally good for the survival statistics. The fairy squad backed up by the good wizards/witches will use their specialist fighting skills to tackle this being directly.
The fairy squad will train regularly as per Eileen’s instructions. Everybody else will keep well out of the way. Curses have a nasty habit of rebounding… The squad will practice around the Fountain of Youth and the rolling parklands around it. Given this is in clear view of the Palace, there is no excuse for other employees to get in their way so anyone running in moaning they’ve been blasted at will not only receive very little sympathy, they will also face prosecution for getting in the way of Her Majesty’s security services! The fairy squad themselves are expected to give proper notice as it is only fair that warning is given in the first place.
