- There are too many books as it is, why write any more? Ignoring the fact books are unique. Nobody has quite the same take on life as you do so anything you write will be unique to you too. And I don't believe all the stories possible have been written or ever will be!
- Print books are on the way out. Aside from being able to argue this one anyway, even if the statement was true (it's not!), if print books are on the way out, other formats will soon follow suit. Anything detrimental to reading is not a good thing.
- That yet more libraries are being closed. Libraries encourage reading, help support writers in various ways and are a great community meeting place. Libraries are part of our history and heritage. I used my local one years ago after leaving college to help me access the papers as I searched for my first job and libraries can still help with things like this. Now of course they can give internet access to those who need it. So closing any of them to me just seems mad.
There are so many things a writer doesn't want/need to hear. Here are some of them!

AuthorI'm Allison Symes and I write novels, short stories as well as some scripts and poems. I love setting my work in my magical world, the Fairy Kingdom, and my favourite character is Eileen, who believes hypocrisy is something that happens to other people without caring that statement is hypocritical in itself! Eileen is huge fun to write for and about. Archives
