I find landscapes the most inspiring for visualising my Fairy Kingdom. I like a nice range of forests, coastal scenes, mountain areas and classic gardens to help me form, in particular, the Queen's Palace grounds.
(Incidentally Eileen does not tend to visit stately homes as a hobby. The ones she has seen on TV programmes and so on remind her too much of the Fairy Queen's Palace and Eileen doesn't need reminding of that).
I find I need an initial image I can use to flesh out my worlds more. Seeing pictures, especially those involving the sea, also help me to "hear" how the worlds sound which can then spark further ideas as to what might live in those places.
