Forests are far greater in scale than we have in Britain with a wider variety of trees and shrubs but some Earth species have been imported here. The Kingdom is not above pinching things it likes. The Queen has a Forest Keeper, who, with the aid of the transporter trees, and six deputies cares for the forests. Wood is taken to be used as it is here on Earth but it is always done in a sustainable way. As far as the Kingdom is concerned there is no other way.
Most species have their own gardens though the sprites take almost no interest in theirs. They tend to use their personal space to practice what magic/moves they’re going to use the next time they fight another group of sprites! Elves do garden, appreciating the beauty of plants in themselves and knowing the sprites have no clue. There is much pleasure to have from being snobbish with justification.
Dwarfs tend to have a practical streak and so focus on growing food. Elves naturally go for beauty, not practicality. The trolls and orcs just see their land as their land - why do anything with it other than defend it to the death? The Queen is and remains the only royal to take any interest in gardening, though all the fairy royals are devoted to flora and fauna generally. There is no Alan Titchmarsh figure as yet in the realm though the Queen has dropped hints she would like to see gardening programmes similar to those she’s seen humans have but tailored to the needs of the magical world. We may need to worry about slugs. They worry about giant, meat eating slugs!
