Eileen considers whoever designed the forms fairy godmothers must fill in after expending magic on behalf of the Queen to be a sadist who lacked the courage to go in for the whips and made their weapon of choice pen and paper instead. 

L'Evallier would not thank Eileen for this.  He designed the forms and did have the idea of keeping Eileen busy with paperwork to stop her causing trouble around the Palace when she was there when he was coming up with these.  He knows better than to say so though.  Nor does he dare think the thought anywhere near such a talented telepath as Eileen.

Eileen's other paperwork is mainly responding to letters and requests for visits (to open those things the inviters don't think they'll get the Queen for.  Eileen is aware of that and finds it mildly amusing).

Investigative journalism in the Fairy Kingdom is carried out by the unique Roherum.  He is not subtle.  He is not discreet.  People can and do see him coming from a mile off but Roherum, much to the surprise of his rival, the weatherman, does carry out reasonably good investigative journalism from time to time.

Roherum investigated time wasting by the Council, much to their displeasure, and found that the Council were not as efficient as they could be.  The Council had hoped to stop this particular report being broadcast but the Queen and Eileen intervened and pointed out the Council would be better off just getting rid of the time wasting practices Roherum had discovered instead. They followed that advice but Roherum is never likely to be number one on their Christmas card list.

This was one of the things Eileen hated the most about her fairy godmother role.  Her successor in leading the highly trained fairy squad, Hanastrew, also loathes it.

Each "combat" fairy (and Eileen and Hanastrew are the ultimate in these) has to fill in a 10 page form, detailing what they did, to whom, why, could they have acted differently, what lessons did they think they could learn from the experience, and how much magical energy did they use. 

Eileen did try skipping the more irritating questions (especially the what did you learn one) but only found her forms repeatedly bounced back to her by the Queen and her Council.  Eileen only filled the forms in properly to save her time being wasted by the continual bouncing back of incompleted forms.  The Queen considers this to be one of her rare victories over her cousin.  (Eileen does too and resents it.  She never has been a good loser).

Hanastrew, partly because she was warned by Eileen, has always filled her forms in properly and spends a lot of her evenings catching up with the wretched things.  Could the ladies use magic to fill in the forms for them?  Yes, but the Queen and her Council consider it cheating, prefer the personal effort in putting pen to paper directly and will bounce back any forms not filled in that way.  Hanastrew and Eileen have realised it's quicker to comply.  They don't like it.  They won't ever like it.  But until they find a way around this, they're stuck with it.

Tales of the unexpected are a rare event in the Fairy Kingdom.  Witches, wizards and fairies pride themselves on not being taken by surprise.  After all it is a matter of life and death for them.

Where the unexpected does come in is when those from a lowlier background suddenly kill giants, become heroes, thwart wicked witches and so on.  The Fairy News Network loves these stories.  It fills their screen time for weeks at a time.  The wicked witches are less keen, unsurprisingly.  Nobody likes a jumped up little herbert stealing their thunder. 

Roxannadrell, the Fairy Queen, doesn't mind that as long as said jumped up little herbert carries out actions that somehow benefit her and/or her government.  (She acknowledges if only to herself that there is a difference there!  There shouldn't be really but that's another matter).

The really unexpected is when someone from a higher background does something considered to be odd.  Eileen's defection to Earth to marry a mere human for love comes well within that category.  (Eileen believes, with pride, it will take some doing to surpass that.  The Queen has no intention of allowing it to be surpassed.  There is a limit to just how much unexpected she will tolerate).

Balkish would take over his late brother's Facebook page eventually but both dwarves would focus on sharing dwarf sagas on this.  There would also be lots of pictures of axes, different types of beer, articles on brewing and on dwarf history.  (There would also be a certain amount of justification for their traditional hatred of elves and trolls too).

Rodish would also invite his constituents to post comments.  There would be pictures from around his constituency of Amnerbury.  He would not share pictures of his home (security reasons, not that it would have helped him against the Witch).  He would occasionally write posts about how certain elves are "okay".  (L'Evallier would, funnily enough, appreciate the compliment behind this and also the difficult Rodish would have in going against centuries of tradition to write anything positive about an elf at all).

Rodish would have had reviews of the Fairy News Network and Roherum's performance especially.  Let's just say these would not be flattering.  There would also be clips of Roherum's most embarrassing (to others) moments.  It is considered Roherum himself is beyond embarrassment.

When visiting the Fairy Kingdom, the tourist should look out for the following:-

1. Flying.  Fairies fly graciously, witches fly fast and the skies reflect the busyness of the magical world accurately.  The skies clear quickly though if dragons turn up.  Funny that.
2. Colours are brighter and more vivid than anything seen on Earth.  This can give the more sensitive a headache as their eyes get used to this brightness though a decent set of sunglasses can at least reduce the glare a bit.  Be warned.
   
3. The countryside is very similar to that found in the Highlands of Scotland, Norway, New Zealand and so on so visitors from Earth should be made to feel more at home in the magical realm by this.  However midges are the least of your problems here.  Think dragons, ogres and so on.  (There's no preventative cream you can rub off to prevent these turning up either).
4. The Queen's Palace is a magnificent building.  There are no grand tours but you can see the turrets for miles.  The Fairy News Network show programmes about life in the Palace every so often so this gives glimpses behind the scenes.  The Queen only holds garden parties for her own staff.
5. All magical beings rush around so tourists must learn quickly not to get in the way and to not be fazed by this.
