Fairy tales, as we know them, are compulsory reading materials in the Fairy Kingdom,where these stories are treated almost like they were holy writ. Older students are asked to analyse the stories but there is no question of denying their validity or authority.
Technology
The Fairy Kingdom is not against this (in particular machines) as this saves magical energy but they don't like human reliance on technology. The magical world sees this as a kind of self-reliance and feels humanity is nowhere near credible enough to justify just relying on itself like that.
Obeying the Law
There is very little outright rebellion against the law as the punishment for doing so is being zapped by the wands of the fairy squad. At worst that would mean death, at best a painful loss of powers as one's only magical ability is stripped away.
