THE RULES OF MAGIC - 7
If some stranger in town asks the way to the Palace or for access to where the spell books are stored, such encounters are to be reported immediately to the Queen and her Council. To deal with the stranger, any and every species will be expected to try to fob them off. If that fails, tell them what they need to know and send people to the Palace as they will be eliminated there should it prove necessary. The Queen has various methods of disposal at her disposal. For the spell books, tell them to go to the Palace Library. Everything literally is at the Palace. Do bear in mind that if these strangers promise rich rewards for your help they probably mean they won’t kill you. They’ll enslave you instead. Please note the use of the word “probably”.
The Queen and her Council strictly forbids any magical species from sharing their special skills or knowledge outside of their own group (with the exception of the Queen herself on demand. This is because the monarch represents all so her skills should reflect all the species she rules over as well as her having her own). No other group will ask for such information either. This will be one way of exposing “strangers in town” as they will be the ones to ask! Each group is to respect the skills of others. The Queen and her Council are well aware that doesn’t happen but wishes it to do so as from the date of this Order. You can but try! The Queen will ask for progress reports on her next tour around the Kingdom so consider this your warning to be ready.
The Queen was unfortunate enough once to watch an Earth based magic show. She was not impressed. As a result, she insists that magic is not to be shown being performed in any way at all on the Fairy News Network. They can refer to magic being informed, even give hints as to improved practice, but they’re not to show it in “real time”. FNN have appealed against this repeatedly but it is highly unlikely this will be changed during this fairy monarch’s reign. This is one of the few areas where Eileen agrees with her regal cousin. There was a brief period when, prior to this law coming in, some magic had been shown on FNN. Naturally they are not allowed to repeat this. The Queen does not want magic’s mystique exposed to ridicule.
