APPROPRIATE SONGS FOR MY CHARACTERS
It's Now or Never by Elvis Presley. A song for Eileen when deciding whether to do something no other fairy godmother has ever done by defecting to Earth to marry a mere human or whether to resume carrying out her dangerous duties serving the fairy monarch. Rightly, Eileen decided if she was going to leave, it was best she just get on and do so.
Welcome to My World by Jim Reeves. Something Eileen could use when talking to Jenny as the latter juggles magic with everyday human life given Eileen has been juggling both for considerably longer. Jenny of course would see this as her mother being sarcastic.
Please Please Me by The Beatles. What the Queen, if she was willing to show some humility, would like to say to Eileen to get her to stay in the Kingdom for good. Fortunately from Eileen's viewpoint the Queen would never show that humility (and indeed does take Eileen's service to her as her rightful due, which in some ways is correct but also manages to aggravate Eileen. Far better to have someone serving you willingly than being resentful about the whole set up).
All You Need is Love by The Beatles. One for Jenny though she would want to add "And I definitely don't need bloody magic!".
Substitute by The Who. What Hanastrew is in a way now Eileen has left the Kingdom given the girl has taken over a lot of Eileen's former duties. The Queen considers Hanastrew an inferior substitute but would never dare say so. If Eileen knew this, she would wish the Queen would say. Eileen would consider that the Queen deserves to have folk like Hanastrew upset and annoyed given the monarch does tend to take her subjects for granted.
